Avatar the last airbender™ - live nation™

This past summer I was approached by my good friends at Live Nation for another event at the Fox in Riverside. As soon as I heard the words, I was in! We had quite a few revisions (we’ll show some below.) but at the end of it all we came out with something extra sweet that really encapsulates the vibes of this particular evening and what it’s really showcasing… the emotion of Avatar The Last Airbender!

The overall focus in terms of a design standpoint was to tell a slice of the story of ATLA. Using Rhythm, Line, Contrast, Scale and a limited color palette we attempted to convey the entire spectrum of emotion; serene calm to righteous anger. The path “Ang” finds himself towards the end of the story entails much self reflection and the realization and eventual control of one’s own inner strength. The struggle between his own personal fate contrasted with the fulfillment of prophecy for an entire peoples, not to mention an external enemy literally made of fire… the stakes are high.
