Jim Henson premiered Kermit the frog on late night television in 1956… Miss Piggy didn’t show up until much later… but Jim being a hippie at heart…I have a strong feeling him and the green guy had their fair share of run ins and get aways from the law…lol.

Little about the creator of Kermit: Jim Henson was by all accounts one of the kindest and most gentle human beings ever to exist. Finding his stride in the late 50’s and evolving into a mad genius of positive radiation amongst the trying times of the 60’s and 70’s. Jim’s constant drive to create led him to creating the Fraggles, the Muppets and the cast of characters for Sesame Street. Jim and his studio also created the world behind The Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal!

Jim had a quiet nature to him that I really resonate with. It’s one of his most admirable qualities in my opinion. Also, his mission for puppetry and Art for that matter to be taken, serious isn’t the word… it seems he felt there should be a deep respect and reverence instilled within society for the whimsical and childlike. Kermit for instance, was a character created for adults. Jim apparently did not like the idea of him being involved in anything related strictly to children. But… The love shown to Kermit from all ages (and studio pressure) insisted that Kermit be involved in the creation and launch of Sesame Street. Jim relented, quietly, and gave Kermit the voice and aura that shaped the hearts of so many of us children of the 80’s.

Being a bootleg artist / designer, I have a certain freedom to do whatever I want… In my dreams would I be making this for Jim Henson studios itself to put out as a patch in order to gain millions of dollars for the innocence project… you damn right! Are they now mostly Disney studios? I think so… but I digress… for I am only a single bootleg artist / designer and this will be a small drop into the ocean. But at-least our drops are well executed and pretty fuckin’ funny. Love you all!

The Innocence Project is very near and dear to my heart. They’ve been at it for 28 years! Please, check them out and spread words! May all of the innocent find their day of freedom. 100% of the monies generated by this patch…every dime spent, goes directly to the Innocence Project.
